OUR FAQ'S

How much do term-based lessons/classes cost?

Our individual lessons are priced at $41/30 minutes and $82/hour. Our classes are billed at $190/term (pro rata). Additionally, there is a $10 admin fee per term to cover additional costs. All new students receive one trial lesson/class free of charge.

How much do term-based lessons/classes cost?

We do offer casual individual lessons subject to availability. These are priced at $45/30 minutes and $90/hour, to be paid in the studio on the day of the lesson.
 

What do I need to bring? 

Upon enrolment, all students receive a 'Welcome Pack' including a tote bag, display file, music book and pencil case with stationery included. Additionally, some teachers may encourage students to bring a device for the use of applications. We encourage singers and students in Musical Theatre to bring a bottle of water.
 

Do you offer pair/group instrumental lessons?

On occasion, we may offer a paired lesson if the perspective students are looking for a paired lesson, however we generally find that students progress quicker learning an instrument one-on-one, as every student is different with a different learning style, background, strengths and weaknesses and goals. Please get in contact if you are looking for a paired lesson.
 

I'm an adult beginner - can I learn? 

Absolutely! We have many adult beginners in the studio, and welcome all from all walks of life! Our studio is focussed on cultivating someone's passion for music and helping them thrive! It is definitely not too late to start an instrument/singing later in life - we would love to help you achieve your goals!
 

I've been told I'm tone deaf - is there any point to learning? 

Firstly, we're so sorry you've had this experience! True Tone-deafness (amusia) is very rare, and it's very likely that you just haven't learnt how to use your voice properly! There are so many different aspects to singing, and our lovely vocal staff are experts at working with singers who are brand new to exploring their voice! 

Do I have to practice?

Having lessons once a week is a great start to improving as a musician, however regular practice will help master these skills and develop at a faster pace. We usually recommend practicing minimum three days a week (>20 mins a day), however understand that life can get in the way and it can be difficult some weeks.
 

Are you able to facilitate working towards AMEB exams?

Yes - we have students through our studio who sit AMEB exams in various streams, and are happy to assist with the preparation of this material.

Do you offer remote lessons? (i.e. lessons from our house?)

We currently have a teacher who teaches via zoom (Kirilee), so can offer remote lessons via this method. Unfortunately, we do not travel to external locations for lessons. 
 

Do you offer 45 minute individual lessons?

At this stage, we only offer 30 minute and 60 minute individual lessons.
 

Do you offer payment plans? 

The majority of our studio pay a bulk fee at the beginning of each term. We do understand that cost-of-living expenses can make this difficult, and are happy to arrange a payment plan that suits your family. Please email us directly to organise this.
 

What is your 'missed lesson' policy. 

If a student cancels with more than 24 hours notice, that lesson is marked as a 'notified absence' and will be made up at a later date. If lesson than 24 hours notice is provided, the lesson is forfeited and paid at the full rate. For illness, we offer a remote lesson (Zoom of FaceTime) alternative. If a teacher is absent for a lesson, the studio will contact you for an alternative lesson time.
 

Can I cancel my lessons?

We totally understand that sometimes life may get in the way of your ability to continue lessons. For all resignations, two weeks notice is required. 
 

Do you provide opportunities to perform? 

For school-aged students, we offer mid-year and end-of-year concerts, where the majority of our students perform. These are highlights of our students year, as we facilitate these professional performance venue with professional lighting and sound. For our adult students, we facilitate individual performances/gigs throughout the year, and are working towards a 'student soiree'. Our students also regularly perform in local competitions, theatre shows, and singing and instrumental performances. 
 

Do you continue lessons through the school holidays?

We generally run on a term-by-term basis, and do not continue our regular lessons through the school holidays. We do, however, offer extra/additional casual lessons with selected teachers and run holiday programs! Occasionally, we also offer 'catch-up' lessons during the holidays.
 

I'm going on vacation - can I keep my lesson time?

How exciting! We hope you have a wonderful time! 
For holidays more than three weeks, we require a holding fee to hold a specific lesson time for a student, as it limits our teachers' time and availability.
